LHSC Regional Injury Prevention Program
The Regional Injury Prevention Program is an integral part of the Trauma Program at London Health Sciences Centre and is a leader in Injury Prevention research and education. Our team works closely with community partners and allied health in the uniform creation and distribution of injury prevention education, which supports the integration of prevention practice across the lifespan (e.g., from birth to 65 years +) in Southwestern Ontario.
In Canada, injury is the leading cause of death in individuals aged 0-34 years. Our Injury Prevention team recognizes the importance in promoting safety initiatives that reduce the need for healthcare services and taking action against unnecessary harm through adequate education. We recognize that community members at all levels play a critical role in preventing injuries and therefore, our program aims to influence and empower individuals to make decisions that minimize the risk of injury while maintaining a healthy, active and safe lifestyle.
